how do you make lettering "GLOW"

Use the drop shadow tool then hit ctrl K to break apart shadow and the+ key on the num. pad will duplicate it to make it more opaque. You can also use the contour tool to give it a hilight.

okay-- the problem i am having is i cant get a light colored "glow" to show up on a darker color. any tips there. that one woked awesome on lighter background

Make the shadow>break apart, select the shadow and pick a color,while the shadow is selected cut & paste it untill you get the desired effect. Your first shadow can be white then paste a color on top of it.

Good Morning
I add contour, break apart, convert to bitmap, and it turns it into a white rectangle. I have done this with clouds, I just can't remember how I did it... Thanks for your help...
