How often do you get this................. ??

Hey Pat..... are you sure they're not 'HOT' ??

People around here will steal anything if they know they have someone to buy it quickly.

And here we go again, Addie. Why in the world would you tell a completely successful businessman how to run his business with your background.... about anything ?? If anyone in their right mind would charge $40. or so for a simple patch and $35. for a new sign....... if I were the customer, I'd consider that place a total 'Rip-Off', but then again, we are talking about your business model here, so I guess if the shoe fits....... it's gonna wear out in your case.

True case, so you can maybe understand a little something for a change, Addie. A few months ago, geeze, almost a year ago...... a realtor came in wanting prices for phone number patches. I asked how many ?? Oh, let's say 50, enough for 25 signs to start. In my head, he said to start, which means they'll be more if I handle this right. I told him for the 50pcs. 2" x 16" black on white overlay, it would run about $5.50 each. Hey, how many do you really need ?? Well, I just bought out another office and we're moving it to the other side of town, so my phone is changing and all of the other office's numbers will change. I need a total of 300 signs worth. Alrightie then, I can do them for $2.75 each. He said GREAT !! That's the best deal yet, by far. [Needless to say, I could print them and have them ready in a few hours]. Okay, that's out of the way, I need to talk about 4' x 4' double sided signs and 4' x 8's. Can you do them ?? Yep, sure can. We've been doing signs for this guy like you can't believe. Another true story. Guy [realtor] came in this past June and placed an order for a few overlays and needed prices on some larger Commercial Signs. He ordered a sh!t-ton of signs and we eventually got paid the balance. In fact, they gave us a bonus for their taking so long with the final check. A few words were said back and forth about our not trusting them and they decided they were gonna take their business elsewhere. I always kept a professional and positive attitude, until about two weeks ago. I told him how it was, how we run our business and told him to basically take it or leave it. I just got an e-mail from him this morning asking if we could move on together with our business and he ordered more signs. I figured he couldn't find anyone else near our prices, quality or service.... something rare these days to have all three.

Again, I did what I said and stood behind it, while he back-pedaled and called me names and made fun of me, but really.... in the end, I still have his business while the words and crap really don't bother me. I'm still taking his green cash to the bank, especially after we ironed out the terms which he now fully understands.

I don't know if you're reading this Baz, but this was the guy I was telling you about last month. He finally turned around. Go figure.

Gino, I been dealing with Realtors way longer than you have. You have in your post putting me down once again proven my point. Realtors are always looking for the lowest cost product, and to not pay you. So, my advice of selling them a better product and forcing them into a better decision isn't wrong. Selling them some garbage patches is wrong. I see Realtors with patches on there signs I won't bother calling them. We don't even allow patched signs in my office. They look like crap and show you don't care about the quality of your marketing materials when your selling most peoples largest asset.

Unlike you Gino I don't have to chase my REALTOR clients to get paid or reset terms with them. They know you pay upfront 100% unless I know you and really really like you which is a very short short list. Especially considering 114 of them work for me directly.

So, next time you wanna try to preach to me about realtors and how I run my business. Don't. You're are just spewing garbage with no actual experience in the real estate field.

She doesn't want to buy a new sign that works at the new location because she has a perfectly good one now? Easy solution. Relocate the entire old building to the new location, or maybe she could try asking the property owner for a credit.

Addie, shut your stoopid trap.

You don't have a clue as to what you're saying or talking about. I never said we didn't get paid or had to chase him down. Our terms are 50% down, balance upon completion. He took 2-1/2 weeks to pay the balance and felt bad, so paid us more and said he didn't want to return. I guess he couldn't find anyone else, so he e-mailed me he was ready to resume business again. No where did I say I chased him down. If you can't afford to wait 2-1/2 weeks for a few thousand dollars, then you have more wrong with your business model than I thought. These guys just thought they'd teach me a lesson by going elsewhere and couldn't find service, prices or quality like ours, so they ate some crow and we're on good terms once again.... and our payment terms 100%.

It's quite evident, you don't know how [or have access] to make an overlay or you wouldn't be saying the stoopid stuff you're spewing out. You mean if a realtor came to you and bought 75 18" x 24" aluminum signs and needed to change the number, you wouldn't do it, unless he bought all new ones over again ?? Alright, let's change the story. I know how frugal and cheap you are, so suppose you made 75 18" x 24" aluminum sings for the guy and you spelled his name wrong or transposed a number around. You mean to tell me, you're gonna do new ones over for No Charge, cause overlays don't exist in your shop ?? Has nothing to do with a proof.... YOU spelled a name wrong or made the wrong number. Your fault.

Yeah, unlike me, you don't have to chase realtors down..... but you have to borrow all your tools for installing a simple sign on a property cause ya don't have the right tools or supplies along with you. You're gonna charge a guy for your stoopidness and not knowing how to deal with obstacles in a professional manner. Addie, you're turning from a liar into a stooge the more you open your mouth. Then you have the audacity to tell me.... DON'T. Like I'm gonna ever listen to you hatchet-head ??

Addie, you might have a point in up-selling a customer from time to time, but not in this scenario, so just suffice it to say, put a sock in it. I heard that the other day and liked it, so now you can own that. :snarky

No, Gino I am not going to do an overlay. I do my job right. I don't cut corners when I am giving products to my clients. The signs I sell are the primary source for the sale of a 400k average home. I don't charge for half *** work. It might be acceptable to the majority of people but, I do what I say I will do right or I keep working till I make it right. So, yeah I would have replaced all 75 signs. That would have hurt my pocketbook and, believe me I have eaten enough PB & J over the years cause of situations like that.

As for letting a REALTOR to treat me like their personal Bank for 2 weeks. Nope, not going to happen not for $1 not for $10,000. I got resources for those individuals. They can borrow against their commissions with companies like Commission Express, they can use Bill Me Later through paypal, or they can put it on their credit card. All options that get me paid and the other guys has to do the chasing later not me.

I have been burned too many times by companies and realtors that order product even put 50% down then just decide they don't want it anymore or quit the business, or even move back up North. I don't know how it is in your area but, people here are a lot more transient and won't think twice about leaving you holding the bag.

So, Gino you keep your sock I am not sure I wanna know what that running goo you left in the bottom of it is. The BS your spewing is getting pretty thick. Especially considering my companies are cranking along just fine. This year I stand to make a very nice healthy profit and be on track for a new home paid with cash by 1st Quarter of next year. It's amazing what one can do when they recognize their limitations and focus solely on what they are good at.

First thing you have ever posted I agree with.

You just agree with this nonsense, cause your Mom and girlfriend are realtors and it's your twisted warped mind's way of you calling them names without saying it their faces. What a brave little man we are, huh ??

Anyway, I live in a 400k house and it had a beaten up old ratty looking sign at the bottom of the hill, when we bought it. Who in their right mind decides to buy a house or business location based upon what a sign looks like, let alone if it has an overlay to correct some wrong information on it ?? Most normal people look to see if the toilets flush, are clean and the kitchen is also clean. Other than that, who gives a rip about a sign at the bottom of a hill ?? Just some egotistical nincompoop. Speaking of ego...... with that kinda thinking, putting their pictures on the signs is a sure way of losing a deal.... the way some of those people look. Heck, most of the signs we make with their faces plastered on it are 10 and 15 years old. They're so vain, they can't even use an up-to-date picture and you're worried about an overlay ??

I can also say, it's been far and few between for not getting paid. In 42 years, it's been a handful of times, but you sound like it happened like clock-work with your business or brokering firm.

As for getting a new home, I'm sure there are strings attached to this deal of yours but for your girlfriend and your adopted kids sake, I'm happy for ya. Hope it's not too close to the school, cause those people'll probably come gunnin' for ya.

You're too much, Addie....... :banghead:, but a real pleasure for these kinda discussions. :Big Laugh
