How to turn adhered gloss laminate into matte or satin?

Do you know of a way to turn a section of matte laminate, that has been turned glossy by over-heating or chemicals, back to matte or satin finish?

only thing I can think of is liquid clear coat in matte, but you'd probably have to do the whole thing to make it even

There are plenty of ways to do the whole thing, but not just a section. If somebody knows a way, I'd be interested.

Nope, you're gonna have to use a new piece and not as much heat this time. Some specialty vinyls wont tolerate the temp of a torch but a heat gun will work.
