an open source software like blender might be the ticket. i no a fella that does 3d animation with it and it does a great job... its simple to find with a search as its free like inkscape. i know there is a huge capasity with this software far beyond my understanding.. and i know it does wireframe layout.. but i cant be much help beyond that.. chack out some of the stuff on youtube... amazing and def not only for animation....
