HP 360 Print problem

Pastie

Newb
I had some bad banding after I printed 6 IJ35 48 x 48 pieces today. It started in the middle of the 7th sign, banding on ALL colors out of no where. Very mild banding on the 6th sign.
I replaced all the print heads, saw banding on the alignment stage. Still have bands on my test print in mainly the Blue and Black. I think did a Force drop detection and showed no clogs.
My SMk 3 is do for replacement. I am at 108% on it.

We did lose power her last Friday and had an AC die, we replaced it yesterday, I am in Houston and it was 88-92 in the room for 4-5 days.

Here are the prints of the forced drop and the service menu tests.

Any ideas?

I got a call into my service people but they cannot make it until next week.

Run the Test Print (under the Settings, Image Quality Maintenance Menu) and visually review the pattern. Horizontal banding is almost always directly tied to nozzle performance or media feed. It is also unusual that the force drop would show that every nozzle out of 12,672 nozzles across 6 printheads are jetting. It is typical that a few nozzles are out - makes me curious if the ODD is working.

I will do so tomorrow. The drop test was run very quickly after I installed new print heads. I would be shocked if I have used 5 -10 ml.

Can you rule out a feed problem? If yes, it could be the maintenance cartridge.(contaminate the color heads with optimizer. This instantly clogs the heads. But you should see that in the nozzle test print)
I have seen the rubber on the feed roller getting slippery and needs cleaning. (Pretty easy on a 360, start "turn drive roller" in service mode and remove the two platen segments for easy access.
Also check/clean the Omas glass. If it gets better with Omas turned off, it could be dust on the inside of the optics.

Clearly your new printheads ain't in the perfect shape. More cleaning cleaning and cleaning. If you have had them sat on your shelf for some time hopefully you gave them a good shake before installing.

And something is wrong the with the drop detector. Is it full of smuck blocking the sensor or just faulty I'm not sure.
Could be optimizer leakage in the carriage as well but I'd assume you'd see some liquid around when carriage moves.

But cmon corn, nothing to do with feed or OMAS....... Guys missing half of his cyan/black.

I have not got into the office, played cards last night.

I didn’t think about this but I replaced the line edge sensor, it had like an oil goopy stuff one it. I then printed for nearly Two days without error with the new sensor.

Is that want optimizer looks like? A clear oily type film?

Yeah.. you better inspect the bottom of the carriage a little closer. Should be bone dry, if there's clear liquid it's optimizer and you have a leakage from the FI-tower.
FI-towers not too expensive and can be replaced on it's own.

Thank you boss. About to go check it out. I do have a parts machine from a pal. Not sure if I could salvage that out not.

Under Op PH it is dry as a bone. Under the right side of the carriage it is wet with what I assume is optimizer liquid.

Ink Carriage tray is full of optimizer I think. We will replace ink lines is the only solution... I just might buy a new machine :]

I always do and the PH were brand new.
I was questioning balstestrat about the need to shake the printheads. I understand the importance of shaking the ink cartridges, but I've never heard that it was necessary to shake the printheads.

I already told you, you can replace only the FI-towers. It's cost effective and easy solution. Done plenty of them and fixed the issue.
