Hi I wanted to chime into this old thread in hopes that someone will still get notifications on it and offer some feedback. We also have this media shrinking problem but at the moment, that is the least of my worries. We have had the HP Latex 560 since early 2020. While I enjoy the spindless feature there are some issues that have been present the entire 5 years that we have owned it that have never been resolved.
My main problem with the printer is that it is SO SLOW!
For reference, I am comparing this with our 10 year old Latex 360. The 560 prints at nearly half the rate of the 360 and we have never been able to figure out why. I have literally run out an entire 100 foot roll of banner on both machines, using the same print mode and everything and the 560 will finish HOURS after the 360. I watch it and the carriage never moves back and forth at the same speed that the 360 moves. Its almost like it has a swath delay set on it. But there is no swath delay (not from what we can tell on the front panel. It is set to 0ms). This has driven me crazy for years at this point!
This slowness happens on all media profiles. Some are a little faster than others but overall still very slow when compared to the 360. Also the print quality coming off the 560 has never been as clear and sharp as the 360 (so that is worth mentioning). We had an HP tech look at it several times years ago and they never got to the bottom of it. We should have sent this thing back and gotten another one because its a lemon. I've ruled out network issues being the cause and now I'm looking to see if its perhaps related to a power issue.
Has anyone else experienced this with a 560 or any other HP Latex Printer?
