ooooh really ikarasu. you switched to nazdar?! we were offered a cube when we switched our roland to a bulk system from nazdar. is it that good? at the time i didnt want to throw it in for fear of voiding our warranty/service contract.
Ink is probably the lowest cost when it comes to making items. Saving pennies a sqft isn't worth using non tested ink to us... So we never switched or considered it before either. We use nazdar ink for a ton of our screen printing inks... So we know they're a good brand already.
Everytime we.had misting... It'd take 2ish days to get a new ink set... That's two days of downtime and late production, once I can understand... Two is bad luck, but this happened over 5 times in the past few months on different colors. The last time we didn't even call HP up for a replacement... We switched to nazdar for our magenta and our black which was having problems constantly. We'd get through 20-30% of a box and the issue would come back.
Ever since switching to nazdar we haven't had a single issue with the misting. Customers haven't complained about anything... And our red is more red. I'll upload a photo of our pure 100% magenta print... The hp magenta is way more pink/light than nazdars. We actually can get really nice reds with the nazdar, where with genuine ink we could.get decent reds after Profiling.. but nothing as good as this.
With HP setting the end of life on their fb500s we figured it was worth the risk. We're happy with nazdar, no regrets or issues so far.... Been using it for a month and a half. So I can't comment on longevity... But it passed our scratch tests and it adheres and cures perfectly like oem. Nicer reds... no bad ink batches, switchings a no brainer. We originally were just going to do it temp until HP got.their ink under control... But we've committed to doing a full changeover.
But as I said... 99% of the stuff we print is real estate. Stuff that is out for a few months and then gets thrown out. If I were doing long term signs id do more testing and maybe hesitate a bit more before making the switch... So our situation it made sense to switch.
