BUT APPARENTLY NOT MY OWN....ARGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Upgraded another Gig of ram this weekend.
Got a good deal at CompUSA for PNY pair for $69.00.
I was at 1 Gig of DDR2-PC4200. 512s in Dimm 1 and 3.
Added DDR2-PC5400 into Dimms 2 and 4. I should be golden.
I'm not really noticing too much of a difference, except the net, and some tasks are slower
than before. System recognizes 2048 Gigs of ram with no memory beeps at boot.
At reboot or startup, after seeing the initial black screen with system info...
computer hangs before I'm supposed to see the Intel bios splash screen.
I have to reboot a few times to get to that screen...then I know I'm good.
There are no options in the bios for anything memory related.
Would I be better off putting the new higher frequency sticks in the
1 & 3 Dimms?
Intel D945PSN Mobo (dual channel) with P4 2.93...everything is compatible.
