Illustrator eps file problem

We have an issue where we place a eps file in Illustrator, when we are printing the banners it shows a ghost box that was part of the original image. We tried to embed it, but it still shows it. ANyway of preventing this?

Thanks in advance

Why not just open the eps in Illy instead of placing it?
If it is a vector based eps there should be no issues

Been using Illustrator since way back. For simple text. Now that we are doing banners & posters I'm learning what this program can really do.

Thanks for info.

I tried just opening eps file (logo) & placing it banner order & still shows the phantom box

Is the eps actually just a jpg or tiff embeded in an eps format?
That would explain the box?

I can take a look at it for you if youd like, you can PM me for my email if you do

It's a tiff as an eps file. Since you idea made perfect sense to try just opening & then placing in file. Yet problem is still there. Were on the phone w/Adobe now. We pay then plenty for program, let's see what they arrive at.

I can tell you the problem right here, eps does not support transparency when saved for output, the best solution is to "clip" the image in Photoshop and save it with a clipping path, then you can place it into Illy
