I absolutely love this time of year, but today could have changed that forever.

My adult son attempted suicide last night, but with God's blessing and power he found the presence of mind to call the suicide hotline, who then directed him to the hospital.

I was rattled out of bed with that news this morning and have been in a whirlwind of scattered emotions all day.

We have taken him in for a few days so he can rest and get counseling.

Hug your babies tightly tonight...no matter how old they are.

How are things going currently Jim? I have my own battles as well and I know I wish I had more support as I don't talk to either one of my parents and I'm going through a separation too. Your son seems lucky to have from what I know a great Dad. Support really is so important, There's so much to worry about that life can get out of hand and that extra person means more than anyone could imagine when your in a state of hopelessness and overwhelm.

I recently read this book and found it to be SUPER helpful. A few years ago I went through a burnout and I still don't feel fully recovered. I'm considering taking the entire month of July off to continue the healing process.
