importing into corel 9

Customer is trying to send me a logo. It was sent as a cdr file and when I import / open the file, it asks for a font substitution, I just click any substitution and the file will open, but the edges of the image are all jagged. So, I assumed the file wasn't converted to curves and tell the customer and she said that she did convert to curves. She sends in eps and pdf. Cannot even open these files!

I'll ask for her send lower version of Corel or ai and see if that helps. I'm not sure what the problem is because I always receive cdr, ai, and eps files with no problems at all. Anyone have any suggestions?

Try opening in Illustartor the eps and pdf file. Resave
It subs the fonts because the fonts aren`t on your computer

she might have a outline on the font that is giving you a problem. that might need to be coverted to object and like Mark-s said the font is not on your computer ask her if she can send you the font so you and put in your font folder

It could also be a newer Corel file, like you suggested. It can't hurt to see if it will open in a lower version.

Just got off the phone with her. She said there are no outlines and that she can open it in Corel 12. I have version 9...x4 soon.
She sent me a wmf file, which I can open, but it is jagged (same as the corel file). In the past, she has sent me files before with no problems. Still trying to figure this out.

As Jill mentioned, I got her to send a lower version cdr file, file would open...but nothing there! Weird!

Well, finally! Apparently, she thought I had Corel 10 and was sending corel 10 files. She sent a 9 file and all is well! Thank you to all for your help and suggestions. Much appreciated.
