Ingrown Toenail

It's real easy to get them ingrown. I cut them square so the sides protrude past the toe and never scrape under the nail, scraping removes the little bit of padding and they start cutting into the toe.

A good pedicure will deal with it. maybe give you 6-8 weeks of peace, plus if you take your wife with you you will get maybe a week of peace.

Have you ever had a catheter? heart surgery? or a baby? c'mon it's a toe nail, you can do it.

Yea, I've had a baby. That didn't hurt at all. My wife thought otherwise though when they cut her stomach open and pulled a human being out. Catheter, no. Heart Surgery, no. I'm 27 for cryin' out loud.

I tried soaking it again last night in Epsom Salt for 30 minutes, but couldn't get it to come out w/o screaming. I figure if I'm going to hurt myself, I'd rather just go have the nail cut out by someone that knows what they are doing, and just feel the needle pain for like 15 seconds.

I tried the "V" notch in the middle, so we'll see how that is in a couple of days. It doesn't seem to hurt as bad as it did yesterday, but wearing flip flops when it's 40 in the mornings isn't too much fun. I just hope I don't drop a roll of vinyl on it today.

Sounds like your shoes are one size too small. Usually tight shoes can be the culprit. I would cut my nails really short, then get bigger shoes.

Kraig if you do drop a roll of vinyl on your toe look at the bright side, it will only hurt for a short while, the nail will fall off and you should have a couple of weeks/months without a problem :Big Laugh:doh::banghead::ROFLMAO:

Listen guys, cutting a "V" in the toe nail is an old wives tale. The nail grows from the nail bed outward. See a podiatrist not your general practioner.

Pat and I had the same procedure. Works like a charm

Yeah I'm goin for a double hip replacement on Monday so your ingrown toenail doesn't sound all that bad. Wishin I could trade ya somehow but, obviously that can't happen. I would go see a good podiatrist and get it taken care of.
