Invisible window cling

chester215

Just call me Chester.
Hi Everyone.

I made this cling sign for a local pizza guy that wanted something he could see through from the inside since it is the main window in the store.
First I made one in white vinyl, didn't like it, can't see through it.
Then tried clear window cling material, looks great from the inside but invisible from the outside.
Any suggestions on maybe reversing the image and printing a color as a background on the cling over the original image?
Since I have a roll of clear material I do not really want to purchase a roll of something else if I don't have to.
I will probably go back to the white vinyl (after discussing it with him), but it is not really what the customer wants.
My guess is that he cannot have both.

Your guess is correct. You need white backing up the lettering and the logo what little I can make out. Would be a piece of cake with a Gerber Edge print.
You might try cutting the lettering and logo image in white vinyl and applying it to the back of your static print but your introducing another list of potential issues with stretching and bubbles.

Reverse cut the vinyl and install it on the inside of the window. if it's a serious business, there's no reason to go with static cling.

Could you offer window perf? There is also a poster vue (something like that) where it is a perf media but no adheasive. You could put it, on the inside of the window, however you would need tabs of adheasive to stick it on.

When you have a cutout of a graphic on perf installed you can see through it from the inside but is more noticable than it would be if it were filling the entire window.

a panel of Perf Vinyl, something like 70/30 for a store window. Alternately why not cut vinyl mounted to the inside of the glass or hang a mesh banner inside on rod pockets...the list is endless...but your chances of making money on this job are limited.
