Is an old JV3 still a useable machine in a modern sign shop

We have an old JV3-160SP which I bought a few years ago very cheaply.
It had been offline for quiet some time but over the last year or so I have replaced the caps, pumps, dampers and have now managed to get 3 completley perfect heads for it.
Also I have a bulk ink system which will make this very cheap to run.
My question is should I sell this on as a working machine or incorporate it in to work alongside my other printer (Mutoh Valuejet)?
I was thinking it to be used as a leave over night machine printing banners or lower quality vinyl prints.
Or will the slowness of this 3 head machine drive me nuts?
I have already had some fun and games with this machine as aligning all 3 heads to make sure it is printing perfectly has been a challenge.
This has been used a learning machine and has helped me gain a lot more knowledge on how these machines operate.

We have two JV3s here. They both run all day & night every day and make us a great amount of money. They are a bit slower than the modern machines, but they JUST RUN. As long as you clean them weekly they seem to run forever, ours must have millions of miles on them as they've been here for 12 or more years. The quality is still great for most everything; we run mainly wraps here.

Replace the screws in the capping station with flush-mount screws NOW and save yourself the expense of new heads. Since we replaced ours 2 years ago we haven't had any more head crashes.

I only have a JV3... so no choice .. If speed's an issue, on banners and lower res jobs, you could run it at 8 pass ... quite nippy and not much quality loss

... 3 heads eh

Yes it's a 3 head, not a 4 head machine so definitely not the speediest machine in the world.

Profane and profane accessories.
If it works, you have the room for it, and the jobs to run on it, I think it'd be foolish not to use it.

Rasterlink pro 2 - complaining that there is no printer registered.

Hi there,

I have recently aquired a Mimaki JV3-160 SP that I would love to get going.

When I open rasterlink pro 2 it complains - no printer registered. Please register printer at (Printer Managment) OK.
When I click Ok rasterlink closes.

All software has been freshly installed from original disks.

When I browse my computer I can see the Mimaki Printer displaying and showing as status Ready.

From here i try a test print and nothing happens??

Hope someone can help

Mimaki JV3 S series and SP series printers are best DX4 solvent head printer.
Of course it is useable if the condition is good.
