It's worth it
TimToad and Gino, I agree in large measure with both of you. That's even more reason to try. The days of real allegiance feels like it is gone because we are flooded with news alerts. But I think there are still opportunities to show class as well as craftsmanship. I also think even those you mention can still appreciate it, even if they want it free.
I for one will not give in to the idea that creating a better industry is a lost cost. Yes, we need to put our money where our mouth is but also our energy. We must have a vision then formulate that into a mission and ultimately a reality.
