Is this fake?

I pay little attention to TV commercials, especially credit card ads. That being said, I really like the rock climbing Citi Card commercial. Stunning is the best word I can think of. I'm not a climber, too afraid of heights, but love the view from high places. My wife calls it fake, says it was Photoshoped.

NO, it's not CGI, it is very real, the climbers are real, NOT actors or stunt people, two very accomplished climbers, Katie Brown and Alex Honnold. One commercial I don't mind seeing over and over!

..her shirt is awfully white for climbing that particular kind of rock......that alone shouts FAKE. .... would be cool to descend in a wingsuit

I am curious about the mechanics used to accomplish the radial pan on the last shot. I would not be surprised if there was a little fakery going on there.

The difficulty of the angles on the rock looks plausible. Sandstone doesn't hold holds well, if that's what it is. They climb to the top as an achievement and find it very exhilarating. It's a huge adrenaline rush, you all need to get out a little, and try out the rock in the Rockies.

Not for Alex Honnold, he is the male featured in the City bank commercial I referred to above, see the 60 Minutes YouTube video on his free solo climb of the north face of sentinel, he is undeniably one of the greatest climbers ever.

Alex seems to defy gravity, scaling sheer, steep rock faces with no rope or any safety devices, and he set a record for being the ONLY person to FREE SOLO the north face of sentinel.

Not everything is FAKE!

I was flipping through the channels about a year back and on FUSE they had a clip from a movie titled "King Lines". Upon looking further into the movie the star of this documentary is named Chris Sharma. This is some of if not the best rock climbing I have ever seen. http://www.bigupproductions.com/#/films/King_Lines/

Apparently climbers of this level are so focused that normal day living becomes boring. Each climb is almost a spiritual awakening that is something to be admired.

That guy is crazy. I saw him on 60 minutes last night. They said he was free soloing places that many/most accomplished climbers can't go with safety equipment.
