JV22-160 no ink

Hi guys,
i recently purchased a jv22-160 in really good condition (confirmed by a mimaki service) that was used to print just black - there was water in the other cartridges.
after switching to dye sub kkccmmyy and doing the ink change including cleaner only black is showing up after dozens of ink fills and cleans and nozzle washes. some lines are empty and i cant get any ink in the dampers with a syringe...i changed the dampers but nothing again....the pump seems to be working...am i missing something...what coudl it be that i can try for myself?

If you cant suck ink with a syringe directly from the dampers, your lines are blocked somewhere.
Would also be checking heads if it has been sitting with nothing in them.
You will need to remove all covers to get at the fittings at the cartidges

ill give it a try...so after removing all covers i try to squeeze some cleaning fluid thru the lines if i get u right

I actually did as suggested and saw that one yellow line is empty and both cyan lines are empty....right now only black shows up on the test print..i did try to squeeze some cleaning fluid thru one yellow but it started flowing out at some connection point right on the center...i attached some pics...could it be that the o-rings on all connectors need to be replaced?

Hi guys,
if anyone has an idea what might be the problem id appreciate any comment...i changed the dampers and the ink caps...ink fill didnt work for magenta so i filled it manually with a syringe and it worked...now kcy are firing but magenta is not..i attached some pics...i did a nozzle wash and noticed the cleaning fluid wont stay on the ink caps on the magenta cap...all other stay but magenta just drains immediately...after letting it sit overnight there wasnt a single drop of magenta on the new cap...one line of magenta is full but the other went back one 1/3 of the ink lines...any ideas on what to try? can the head be manually flushed on a jv22? like aking the dampers off and attach syringe with cleaning fluid insted of the damper and just try to flush or shall i try something else first?

Hello...after numerous nozzle washes...hard cleanings..ink fills i got at least a sign of magenta...one line is still not filling up and the cleaning fluid still drains on the magenta ink cap...here are aome pics of the test prints..is there still hope?

You need to go back to basics and ensure the supply lines and cartridges are allowing the inks to flow freely when syringing
inks through. Also recheck your dampers to ensure they have not blocked up. You then need to manually flush the heads to
ensure all nozzles are clear. Syringe inks through the dampers so they are full and If everything is right,then do a cleaning
cycle and a test print

i managed to get magenta after using a syringe on the lines above the pump and getting ink thur the head and the capping station...now i have pretty bad nozzle checks forsyan and magenta...black and yellow are fine...i then did manually fluch magenta and cyan heads and did another ink fill and hard cleans but lost magenta fter that again...after using the syringe again above the pump i have a bad magenta again...now im wondering if the pump isnt alright or what it might be?

Heres a latest nozzle check..should i just continue to do nozzle washes and hard cleans and hope the cyan will just likenthe magenta get better or will i only waste a ton of time and ink by doing so?

im running out of options...after numerous nozzle washs and strong cleans didnt get the cyan nozzle check to improve i put the cyn dampers on the magenta head just to check if it not a damper or line poblem and i also switched cables with the magenta head...the result is attached and cyan came out ok...now my question is if that means the cyan head is dead or if there is anything else to try?

You might need a new capping station

Last resort..remove the dampers from your cyan heads and gently syringe some cleaner into the heads and leave it over night
and let it soak. After the soak, try syringing at a little higher pressure and push a full syringe through each channel until all nozzles
are clean. Refit the dampers and suck your cyan through to fill the head. Run one clean cycle and then print full color bands..
Print 12 inches of them or so and then do another test print an post it for us to see what difference it has made.

i did change the cap tops...no improvement.

i already did a manual flush before...today i decided to tske out the printhead and let it soak in distilled waster and isopropyl alcohol...here are some pics of the head i just took out...tomorrow i will flush the head with a syringe and some more pressure to see if i get a good stream snd will then put it back in...ill update u....thanks for the help.

After doing the soak and the flush the was a little improvement but not enough to work with it so i have to get a new head...i use the printer for dye sub so i guess im supposed to get a water based dx4 print head...but i have an offer for a much cheaper solvent dx4 printhead...we are talking about new printheads...will the solvent one work too or will i have to get the ater based one?
