Light whining noise on sp-300

I recently did a run of 7000 decals on my Roland SP-300. My machine ran non stop for many days 6-8 hours a day. After the run I now notice that the carriage is making a whining noise when the print and cut heads move left or right quickly. Like when its going to cut sheet or when its printing registration marks. I tried lightly greasing the carriage, I tried lightly oiling the carriage. I greased the bearings on the motor lightly. I still get the noise. It only happens when the machine has printed alot of stuff for an hour or so. It didnt make this noise, or at least I didnt notice it before. The Roland SP-300 is about 7-8 years old now, but I keep it very clean and well maintained. I have owned it myself for a little over a year.

Are there any bearings in the head assemblies that can easily be replaced? What causes this noise??? What can I do to fix it?:help

Could be the belt that powers the carriages. That is a weak point on these machines. You might try cleaning the tray where the belt rides then using a silicon lube. First spray the lube on a Q-tip or rag outside the printer room (so it doesn't get in the wrong places.) Then wipe the tray with the silicon lube. Careful not to get any on the encoder strip. On the other hand, if the machine works, maybe leave it alone. Once you start messing with the belt, it is a slippery slope before it fails (though if I recall, it's not a super expensive part to fix.)

The SP 300 has a motor and cable but no belts other than the wipers. Not sure what you are referring to.

Have you checked the white carriage wire pulley and bearing on the left side of the machine? Pull a history report and post your motor SCAN hours here.

Belt = Cable, that is, not the metal cable that pulls the carriage, but the white belt / cable above it that powers / controls the carriage.

So its getting close to 2000 hours, I guess? Is that the motor on the right hand side?

Okay...now you've got me curious...I can print a system report but that just shows the machine settings...how do you print the history part?
