DIY Printer Fixing Guide
We will need to see a nozzle check, know what software and profile you are using and if it was working before or if you are trying to refurb this machine before we can give you some better help.

OK - I will post a pic of the nozzle check. The software is RasterLink Pro II. Although the tech who installed the software for me showed me the list of profiles, I don't have the option to choose another profile. The only option os 1005EZ. The machine was bought for new - it had been sitting in a warehouse for 5 years, and while the crating looked great, the machine is not new. It had, however, been prepped for storage, it seems. I have run the fill ink many times to flush any remaining solutions.. I haven't had any luck finding a Mimaki tech in my area. The guys I have had here are my regular IT guys. They really are not very familiar with the machine or the software. A tech from Reece did call me and he is the who suggested running the ink fill a number of times. Thank you, VanderJ, for messaging.

those pics make me sad.
I'd start by setting a NozzleWash and powering-down/unplugging your printer for the night to allow it to soak.

Then, in the a.m., post pics of the test print when you can and more people can chime-in on proper diagnosis.
edited: osnap, you posted a nozzle check. you should work on your picture posting on these threads :)

nozzle check looks fine. (well, "fine-enough")
a few blocked nozzles shouldn't result in your issue.
noted: i've reposted your pictures here, in case Fred deletes yours for offsite pic posting :)

also, here's a collection of JV3 documents that you may find useful:

They make me sad, too, MikePro!
Thank you for all the great info! I will do as you suggest and post again in the morning. I really appreciate the help links, too!

I did as you suggested. Ran a clean. Same print. Also changed out the media on someone else's suggestion and put banner in.. same result.
During all this Reece called back to check on me.. Gave him the scoop he is sending me a tech..

Hello, all. Just wanted to post an update and huge thanks to all who tried to help me resolve this. The tech says the alignment was one of the worst he'd ever seen. Spent about 2 hours on it and all is rainbows and butterflies.
Again - thanks!

I think both. He did do some mechanical adjustments, but also spent a good deal of time doing electronic adjustments.
He was great, but SO FAR AWAY! Anybody know how to find a Mimaki cert tech "near you"?
BTW.. just a shout out to all the helpful folks out there spending their time and burning up brain cells helping folks like me. :notworthy:
