go to the auto paint store and get some 3M double stick tape it is black it is used for holding molding to cars. this will take care of all your issues

The adhesive on the vinyl is only designed to hold the vinyl to the substrate not to hold the substrate! What you are wanting to do may hold but I would not want this responsibility on me!
