Metal sub frame

I make all my hanging signs with metal sub frame.
Advice for shops without metal fabricating capabilities.
Use .25 steel rod as a sub frame.

Anything bigger than 48x24 I would use 0.5 rod or 1' square tube as a frame.

That's slick.
We don't have welding in house and when we've had to just bolted together a frame, everything is buried and locked by the glue anyhow.

At the VERY least we do something like this. The woodworking shop next door has a vacuum gluing table which does a very even and incredibly good job of laminating pieces of material together without the need for clamps which can crush the HDU.

For double sided, routed swing signs under 4-6 square feet like this one, we just rout a piece of 1/2" MDO to the outside dimension of the sign with hanging tabs extending up that we through bolt steel hangers to.
