My Roland XC 540 SolJet Pro III Error Codes - Help Please

Hello everyone,
Praying I can get some help to get up and running again.

I have 2 of these printer cutters, so I know them both well but finally got stumped.
I have just one that is giving me the biggest headache over the past week.
I came in one morning and the unit was beeping and flashing code 0080. Scan motor error. I went and shut it down and did whatever I could to try look up every option it could be besides the motor.
Even cleaning the Linear code strip just in case. Still didn't work.
So I went ahead and just got the new Scan motor today. After $1,100 and installing that today, did all the proper setups afterwards. I printed and cut the first job. Right after I went and ran the next one and boom! Scan motor error 0040, shut it down then got scan motor error 0010. After shutting it a few times now I got these codes service call 0102, 0105, 0106.
Now someone mentioned to me it looks like the Sensor Interrupter. This seems to be when the print head moves to the right it's not seating the heads on the cap tops correctly. They said pick that up and this should fix it. So now I spent 1,100 for nothing Ugh....

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?
Thank you for your time.
Anthony

Check timing belt/pulley for jumping teeth. Make a mark on the belt and pulley in the parking position an let it print until the error happens and see, if the mark on the belt has moved.

I have had a similar problem before; and what i had done is, either clean or change out the encoder strip 'encoder scale'. That is the thin plasic strip with vertical lines, just below the timing belt. Dust and splashed ink can cause it sensor to read wrong.

I have bought and changed it on my own. It is fairly inexpensive, i think it was $20-30 online. And it come with extra so you need to cut it down.

If you dont have a service manual i would suggest buying one, as well.
Hope that solves it.
Cheers,

I ordered two and have them coming hopefully today. That's another thing someone mentioned. I've changed that about 6 months ago. Thinking all those movement even after cleaning could be failing. Thank you

Definitely a good idea. When I replaced the scan motor I did remove the pulley right above the motor. I'm thinking you may be right and it's misaligned. Keep you posted. Thanks again for your time. I appreciate everyone's help here

A friendly suggestion when requesting help. You have already started requesting help on the post - https://www.signs101.com/threads/service-motor-error-0080-and-0010.53330/page-2#post-1656323. It helps with continuity from techs to post about a problem on a single thread, rather than starting another thread midstream. When troubleshooting, a single thread allows us to follow a sequence of steps in order to eliminate potential sources of the problem. Starting a new thread can interrupt this troubleshooting sequence because responders may not be aware of the steps already taken in the first thread and offer solutions that have already been eliminated. Just saying... :)

Thanks Jim.
Sorry. I have only done this once before with an issue a few years back.

Do you still offer tech support by phone?
I had someone send me your info.

No need to apologize. Yes, I do and I'm very familiar with the XC-540. In fact, I'm in the process of parting out a XC-540. Call me anytime. Phone number is in my signature. Sorry for the delay in responding, still cleaning up from Milton.

I'm so sorry about Milton. Hope you weren't too affected Jim. Had that here years back with Sandy. Got about a foot throughout. Ugh.
