My family has relocated to the "South" for my wifes job and I get to do what I want(as long as make money"! I was a Printer my 25 years and got downsized, said screw em' all and moved to Hawaii, not knowing what the heck I was gonna do. The next thing I know I fell into a large company quoting and selling signs, new constuction and hotel remodels. Trial by fire, but happy to do it. It seemed to fit right in with what I had spent so many years doing, quoting, selling, designing and printing paper.
Did it for a few years, getting an beginners education in channel letters, backlit, engraved, silkscreened and Vinyl signage. Got a bad case of island fever, kinda felt like Nascar, round and round and round! So, I moved back to Oregon and started a small sign shop in a corner of a small print shop in a still smaller town! Next thing ya know...we were making dough! banners, backlit, windows and vehicles...farmed the big stuff to the big boys. I was doing well with mostly vinyl, and mooching answers of friends and aquaintences about how to do it better.
Anyways, We just got here and I think I am gonna buy something at Sign Warehouse. I used thier plotter before and it worked pretty darn good.
I am going to set myself up to do some work and open up somewhere here.
I wanted to introduce myself and hopefully some of you folks will help me with an answer if I can't figure it out myself. I am grateful for the help that I have received from people in this industry in the past and looking forward to mooching from you'all :Big Laugh in the very near future!
