NEW longer Ethernet cable?

I'm relocating my Roland SP540v to a different location, and want to run a NEW longer Ethernet cable, I know I need a crossover type cable, but not sure about it being CAT5 or CAT 6 and how long you can go, basically need to run about 60-70 feet.

Just going from one computer to the printer, but might also want to add another computer, what would be the best scenario, if I decide to add another computer to the mix?

I know nothing about networking.

Thanks for any help.

both computers and printer all on router or switch

I believe max ethernet run is like 300ft so anyway you do it should be fine

Where do you locate the router or switch (near printer), and does it need external power?

What about the cable itself, CAT 5 or CAT 6?

Thanks

cat6 offers faster bandwidth and less signal degradation and crosstalk.

yeah switches/routers are powered..put it where it needs to go i guess?

Cat 5 is fine, the printer is only 100Mb, Cat 6 is for Gig.

Max distance is 100 Meters or around 330 feet.
