Hi Everyone Im so glad i found this Forum, is so much etter than some other Scam/Spam out there!!!:Big Laugh

Well my Question

Im a graphic designer and many customers asking about Vinyl stuff or other similar applications. Im looking for a Vinyl cutter between $900-$1300 or a bit more.. What would be the best option? Im looking for something that i would start with and keep it for more than a year so i dont have to upgrade to something better very soon. I Think the graphtec 3000 series is a good cutter but i need opinions.

Also where is the best place to get one with good support?

thank you.

ps: Excuse my mistakes English is my Second language.

ill do mostly multi layer complicated graphics on Racing sportbikes so ill need something that does fine cutting, almost like pinstriping sometimes.

I recommend Ioline Plotters. I have a 24" Ioline Smarttrac which I started out on about 6 years ago and it still gets used everyday! It was fairly easy to learn to use not having any experience at the time, I never had a problem with it at all, and it was decently priced. Mine is a little outdated being 6 years old but it still gets the job done!

I've had very good service from www.signwarehouse.com They're in Denison, TX ...btw. They sell most all the top brands including Graphtec. I love Graphtecs, but a little over two years ago all I could afford at the time was a Panther. I love it. No problems at all in 2 1/2 years.

Good luck :thumb:

You can't go wrong with a Summa either. I have a Summa D60 and have been very pleased with it in the nearly 4 years I've had it. Graphtec also makes a very nice cutter. If I were to do get another cutter, I would look very hard at the Graphtec FC-series.

Yes, I agree with Chris Adcock. I would get the Graphtec FC series. If cost is important.....the CE3000Mk2 is a very good choice. SSK, signsupplystore.com have some bundles that seem very good.

Check with Advantage Sign Supply in Dallas. I use them as a primary supplier here in Florida and have had great service and support from them.

Fred: Just curious as to why you don't use the one right there in Tampa? I visited them last time I was there. Incredibly nice people, had several pieces of equipement there from Gerbers to Mutohs.

I thought I might confuse someone with that reply. I do deal with the Tampa branch and was just supplying a link to the Dallas branch since that's where astroman is located.

Advantage has branches all over the place and they're very efficient. When I call in an order, if their phones are all in use then someone in their Michigan home office picks up and takes my order with the same knowledge of my buying history and negotiated discounts. The order I place is still shipped from Tampa that same day and I have it the next day.

I have noticed that Advantage has gotten a little price-c latelly, and I am switching to someone else. I pay ALOT less with shipping than I do going to the local branch and picking it up here, just my .02 cents.

their Michigan home office picks up

My first and last call to order from them.. the girl hung up on me... because i dared ask for some coro,,, and didnt know they do not carry coro..

It was for my first job, in my new home, and I didn't have a clue on who to call. Welcome to Michigan,, and advantage sign supply

Summa's are SWEET. Had my Ioline 10 years and it's never been in for a single repair.I have the buy a new plotter fever bug, but figure I should wait for my Ioline to break. Heck that may be another 10 years...8\

I started on a low budget and got everything from Signwarehouse. I've had good luck with them all except tech support.I'm on the other side of the continent from them so I don't know what I'll do when it comes time to have repairs done. Hope everything keeps running well I guess....heck I'm still on a low budget...
