New printer not supported in my version of Flexi

Hello - I just purchased a new printer (Mutoh 1324) and it is not supported in my current version of FlexiSign (8.5).
It did come with the Mutoh Version of of FlexiPRINT SE.

I do not really design much in Flexi. I used it more for adding a contour cutline and outputting to my old Mutoh 1204.

Is there a workaround to get my current setup to work to print contour cut decals? will an older print driver work with my 1324?

I may end up buying a new software setup, but I would like to keep production going while I research the way I would like to go.
I also realize I can go with the Flexi Cloud subscription service, but would much rather get my current setup to work if possible.

Thanks for any info!

I'm looking at that same package as a new purchase and my understanding is that you will need to upgrade the SE to SX to have both Rip and Cut capabilities.

You could do a test with the 1304 driver and see if it will work (I think that one is available in 8.5).
Might be able to get it to print and cut with some of the newer features/print modes missing until you can get an updated RIP.

What plotter are you using to cut the contours with?

The 1324 will not work in older versions of Flexi and there is no work around. Even if you somehow got it working with a 1304 driver, you would not be able to utilize the faster speeds of the 1324 due to profile and print head incompatibility.

Check to see if your plotter has an Illustrator or Corel plug-in. You could create the registration marks in your design software, print it using the Mutoh SE software and then cut it using the plotter software. Graphtec has free downloadable software and I'm sure a lot of other brands do as well.
