Not connected

I have a VP 540 printer, I notice that when I print a colored print the machine will stop on 4 or 5 passes an will say, Not connected. But when I just do a cut job it runs fine. I have change the IP address on the machine and on my laptop when it comes to printing. I am connect with a cable, no router. Has anyone figure out how to prevent this problem. Any Tech out there that can help?

We had this randomly happen - always on print jobs, never on cut. Initially, we thought it a temperature thing as keeping the print room fairly warm seemed to help. But, I'm sorry to say, eventually we had to have a new motherboard installed

Check this thread out here. Sounds like it might be a similar problem that Graphix45 was having. He cleaned the encoder and seamed to fix this problem.

How old is your machine. Many of those that are 7 or 8 years old are starting to have Main Board issues...from what I've been seeing.

Yea, my machins is about 5 years old.

Try clearing your DNS cache on your laptop.

And reset the IPconfig for all the adaptors.. The problem may be there not at the printer. Connectivity problems have two sides to test.
