Ok, Who on here installed trailer advertising for $450 with 2 hour travel time?

Notice the lawn guy made no account of the shop labor to prepare the material before the trip.

Also...
24 inch cutter, transfer paper & 2 5 yard rolls of was $ 450 ish. The basic 7 year vinal is (or was) like $ 7/roll.

I needs to get me some of that there 7 year vinal. :ROFLMAO:

"I bought a vinal cutter as well (2 or 3 years ago), unfortunately I have yet to use it. I had a hard time getting it to connect with my then computer, have to try again with the new computer or call them again, just reminded me to add to my to do list again. 24 inch cutter, transfer paper & 2 5 yard rolls of was $ 450 ish. This is classic. So instead of paying someone $250 he spends close to twice as much and still doesn't have his van lettered.

Truck lettering varies like crazy.
Its one of the few businesses left that has huge profit margins. Depending on overhead.

I used to pay 450 to have my trucks lettered with a simple name logo and phone number.
Then I switched to another place that did it for 250. Identical job

Then I got ahold of a vinyl cutter machine.

I ended up doing them myself for about $10 in material per truck. And you could not tell the difference between the trucks I did and the "professionals" did.

Same with the yard signs. I used to pay 22 a piece for them.
Made them myself for 3 a piece.

All with a 500 cutter and a my laptop.

And we need 10,000 machines to mow $25 lawns...ha

Note .. He did not show a picture..
Note ... Only trailers with good appearance displayed picture .The lowest was $850..Then $1,000 ..etc.

Note the BEST ... Was $2,200 truck / trailer, because of printed logo for the higher price.
In real the design / layout / appeal is the BEST and well worth the cost.

I like it how "home owners" aren't capable of mowing their own lawns in their world. Let them do their own stuff. I've read like four "I want to keep it simple" posts on that board, and it's all because they don't want to pay over $75 to get the job done.

Isn't it funny how nobody on here mentioned quality, Just price and how they think they can do it themselves. I guess I'll do my own dental work with the tools in my garage.

Idiots. Better yet I'll have the kid down my street mow my yard for 5 bucks...

To me, everyone around here with a weed eater is a lawn care service so it's hard to take any of these guys serious and some of the posts in the thread i posted proves it.

2 hours drive time by highway is going to average at about 120 miles ... given gas prices, a 240 mile turn around is $30-$40 in just gas, then you have 4 hours of driving to price out and THEN the materials ... ten to one says it was a buddy who did it for him. I have done install-only jobs like this ... but my service call fee was about $300 then I had the install time added on.

BUT ...like pat w. said............this guy is probably working at a franchise sign shop for an absentee owner..............and can basically STEAL HIS CUT VINLY/PRINT for free.........so outa that $450.........his only cost was GAS & TIME.
i lived in sarasota, knew a guy who worked in a similar franchise shop, and was doing work on his own.........

I know about 5 people in Sarasota that do that ... Completely frown on it but what can you do. A friend of mine started doing side work ... at least I convinced my buddy in the SRQ to get his own plotter and supplies so when he does it he's just doing extra work on the side and not stealing time and supplies from the shop. He's doing pretty well considering he's got his DBA and is now him and another friend doing some nice work.
