Is this possible to use one keyboard for 2 different computers. I have on my desk my design computer and also my book keeping computer. I'd like to use the same keyboard for both computers. Is this even possible? Or do i have to have both keyboards on desk?

Yup, simple A/B switch is all you need if you are using 1 monitor.
(Just depends on what kind of monitor you have, and whether your keyboard is USB or PS2.

Also, If you have separate monitors and your keyboard is USB, you could also just buy 2 USB extension cables with female ends, and then just manually plug them in back and forth as needed.

why yes you can,
it is called a kvm switch (keyboard video and mouse)
the one I use all you need to do is hit the scroll lock button twice and it switches between the two machines...
mine is an iogear and it works great, can get them at almost any computer store also newegg.com

OK so if i read this right. I can get a KVM switch. Take and plug one of my monitors into it, adn then plug it into both computers, and the USB for the keyboard Mouse. Actually take and plug all 3 monitors into the design program and with the click of a button my one monitor will become the book keeping monitor and the keyboard and mouse will run that computer? Now will this stop other PC from doing something. For instance i'm printing something and then change to do a invoice, will it stop the other PC from still working?

i ran with a kvm switch for quite a while... very easy to set-up hot keys to switch between computers. It doesn't make any difference in what the processor is doing so printing is no problem while working on the other machine

you can switch three different computers if you like with the right switch
my keyboard and mouse are also wire less, you could just not hook up the monitors if you don't want them to switch, and just switch the key board and mouse...

Before you order. Make sure the resolution output is high enough for what you need it for. The switches that can handle the higher resolution or even work with digital, are more expensive but are worth it.
