PC stopped detecting my USB for my ROLAND GX-24

Hello.
My Lenovo PC Windows 10 stopped detecting my USB for my ROLAND GX-24.
Verified cable and is not the issue. I wouldn't like to take out the motherboard to verify solder points of the USB port unless I really have to. I do have experience soldering.

I bought serial-to-usb parallel and a Null-serial DB25 NULL MALE-MALE adapter to plug on GX-24.

My PC makes the sound typical when you plug in USB, but doesn't recognize my GX-24.

I think I may need a Driver to make this setup work but the adapter I bought from Ebay doesn't have any info, and I am not a PC guru.

Any ideas to make this work easily?

I appreciate any help, God bless you all.

start out simply?
plug a usb flash drive intoeach port? do they work?
can you read data on the drive?
IF YOUR PORTS ARE FUNCTIONAL youprobably want to google "usb oblivion" a small program that
clears usbhistory (you can instead go to device manager and usb and deleve all composite devices.)
composite devices haven't senta device id back to the pc so do not loada driver

when you plug in a us. to parallel or usb to serial adapter, YOU GAIN A PORT IN DEVICE MANAGER
look in device msnager/ports

is there a NEW serial port or parallel port? you mention 2 different devices usb serial & usb parallel
THESE ARE NOT THE SAME, & do not work together

i will review the roland settings & reply latervwith step by step instructions
(i haven't done this in a couple years & it's harder to remember)

Thank you netsol for taking time out to answer me.
My USB ports are working fine.

Just in case
Description of the 2 items I bought:

1) The USB to DB25 Female adapter allows you to connect existing reliable printers (e.g. HP) to use with new computers (desktops, notebook, etc) that do not have have a parallel port but does have a USB port. For most customers, customers extend their existing printer cable (which has a DB25 Male ending) and connect to the DB25 Female end of this cable. Then the USB cable connects to their computer. The DB25 Male connector has 25 pins arranged in two rows one on top of the other. The top row has 13 holes and the bottom row has 12 holes.

Specifications :
Length is 4 to 6 feet depending on factory run.
Connects USB port to DB25 port
Truly Bi-directional communication between PC and printer
Instantly adds a DB25 female port to your USB equipped PC or laptop
Fully Plug and Play compatible
Support over 1Mbps data transfer rate
USB A connector to DB25
USB specification revision 1.1 and 2.0 compliant
USB bus powered
Low power consumption

Packing Included:
1x USB to DB25 Printer Cable Adapter

2) And this:
DB25 25-Pin (RS2-232) Male to Male Serial Null Modem Gender Changer. These null modems adapters allow file transfer between two computers or other devices.

I will google "usb oblivion" as you mentioned me.

Thanks again, God bless you.

i suspect this setup has never worked?
it sounds to me like we are mixing terms from 2 different technologies
i suspect you have a usb to parallel adapter and a null model adapter to be used with a serial (there are usb to serial adapters as well) device

parallel devices come 25 pin female 36 pin centronics and high pitch connectors as well

there was almost never industry standards for serial connections.
they came db9 male and female as well as db25 male and female

hence the opportunity to end up with a mismatch

also, although the usb end of one of these adapters is "plug & play" the other end is as dumb as a box of rocks, and needs to be configured and matched to your plotter

even if both devices are parallel, there are 3 different MODES that can be supported

can you post a picture of the usb device? showing a model number preferably

you and i may just want to schedule a 20 minute phone call so we get this resived

we are going to have to see WHAT PORTS appear and disappear in device manager, when you plug the usb device in and take it out
once we see this, we can configure so everything works

I was using USB until last time I used last October. When I tried to use this month it didn't do nothing when I tried to cut. After installing and Uninstalling the USB Driver various times it gives me the message:
"USB device not recognized"
So I ordered the 2 items I share the links below hoping to use the serial port.
Did I order the incorrect cable and adapter to use together?

This is the link of the adapter;

This is the cable:

Since today is mother's day, I haven't had the opportunity to do anything yet.
I hope this answers some of your questions.

Thank you

I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows 10.

I can order the cable you States above, or do you want me to order a different one after you check what you have in your office?

I will wait for your response to place my order.

Again thank you very much.

Ok. I just placed my order. But, since I am in Puerto Rico, shipping is slower. I hope to receive on or before the 24th, hopefully a few days sooner. I will let you know once I receive it. I greatly appreciate your help.

This one will not work. DB25 in the cutter is Serial, not parallel.
This one more likely,

and The null modem adapter Should be Male to Female.

With the new cable I just ordered, I Do Not need to order another Null Modem adapter right?
In other words, I will not need an adapter, correct?
Just want to make sure I don't have to order another one.

Just so I an clear.
Thanks

What Cable?
It needs to be a NULL MODEM (Cross link) SERIAL cable or adapter.
USB-Serial adapters mostly Straight. null modem cable or adapter needs to be attached.
None of those items you have ordered can be used.

Netsol gave you a link of a SERIAL cable. IT could could work.
In your post it is a similar looking PARALLEL cable. changing gender will not make it SERIAL. GX-24 does not have parallel port.

The cable I just ordered is the one Netsol sent in the link he recommended me to buy. That is the one I am asking if I use that one once it arrives, if I can use that alone without any additional adapter. Just that new cable once I receive it.

Sorry for any confusion.

God bless.

there is no null modem adapter for parallel, as you know, attila

i never made it to my shop today, a family member had a car accident & totalled the car
had to pick her up and make arrangements with mechanics
