You seem like a cool guy, we've talked a few times on here and you definitely seem eager to learn this business, so don't take this the wrong way...
If you've got people starting an "I Hate Scarface" fan page on Facebook or wherever, you need to tone it down a considerable amount. Occasionally mentioning to friends how lucrative your business is or even discussing the finer points of your margins and you pricing structure with people leading them to believe or understand that you make a healthy profit and are doing well for yourself is one thing. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this isn't happening because you're laid back and casual about it... You must have really said something (or alot of things) that came off as arrogant, braggy, etc..
Sign Maniac's post is the best in this thread. Nobody needs to know anything about you beyond you do good work and are eager to help them. Period. Nobody wants or cares to know how much money you make, how well you do, how many toys you have, etc., unless it's specifically pertinent to a conversation you are engaged in, and even then less is more. Broadcasting your success to the general public is a no-no in business. Hell, I've actually fired customers for bragging about how well off they are. People don't want to hear about it, they don't care, and to say it rubs them the wrong way is an understatement.
Harsh, maybe, but true. Congratulations on your success, honestly. It's a great thing and I'm sure it has a lot to do with your attitude towards life and your desire to constantly improve. I'm genuinely happy for you, as are most members of this forum I'm sure. We're all here to support each other. But with that said, don't expect the rest of the world to take as kindly to it...
