while educating myself on cannabis, cannabis products, and cannabis prohibition I found out that Hemp was categorized as cannabis when cannabis was made illegal.

once again, hemp is not cannabis.

hemp has many benefits, getting high is not one of them.

Prowraps, you are the person i am going after, if i can educate you, then that is one less sheeple walking around...

If growing hemp would stop the use of toxic insecticides which kill bees then I am all for it. The European Union just put a two year ban on poisons sprayed on crops because of this problem. Good luck ddarlink on your quest for growing hemp and turning ProWraps into a treehugger.

Ya know, like everything else..... if the governemnt legalizes it, it won't be able to sustain it without raising the prices so no one could afford it after taxes and whatnot are administered. So once it becomes totally under their control, the cost will skyrocket, the buzz will be next to nothing and you will be forced to go underground to an all new level.

You mean like alcohol? Or tobacco? Or prescription drugs?

I'm guessing that cannabis users would gladly trade higher prices and the like for the peace of mind that they wouldn't be locked in prison for enjoying said legal cannabis. Also, most legalization models allow for citizens to grow their own cannabis. I don't know if that's what you meant by "underground". But what do I know?

I'm not catching your drift, but I meant what I said. I don't think I made mention or even compared any of the vices you mentioned. Possibly, you're just thinking too hard.

Again, for the 'smokers' out there...... the government will tax the livin' sh!t out of it and the quality will go down as the cost goes up and most of you will resort back to buying it illegally.

Also, I didn't realize fully that the smoking hemp was not part of this deal. If I'm reading this correctly, it's for all forms of hemp EXCEPT the refer kind.

I would be leary on petitioning the White House at this time. DOJ will start to hack your phone or the IRS might put you on their radar.

In the post I quoted you said that "like everything else..... if the governemnt (sp) legalizes.." I simply illustrated that there are other vices that the government has legalized and taxed (like alcohol and tobacco) that have not been forced underground. Alcohol is but one example of a once-illegal drug that was legalized and has since flourished in popularity, availability and quality.

Again, I would venture that the "smokers out there" would rather pay more for legal, taxed cannabis than run the risk of ruining their lives with a prison sentence under the current system.

Also, as I mentioned most legalization models would allow for growing one's own. So, you could grow cannabis of whatever quality you wanted without going into the dreaded "underground".

Gino, your argument seems to be that the government would tax cannabis so much and make the quality so low that users would be better off under the current model in which they risk their freedom by using it. I don't subscribe to that argument.

And no, I'm not thinking too hard--just being logical. Cheers.

Hemp paper has always made much more sense to me.....the primary ingredient in paper is cellulose, and hemp pulp has something on the order of 3 times the cellulose of wood pulp. Politicians and Lobbyists will prevent mass hemp production for a good long time to come but someday it will happen.

This is why growing hemp is still illegal, people think you can smoke it and get high...

To your point about the quality will go down because of taxation....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL, Gino, I know you like to comment on everything, but seriously this makes no sense...., but again, this is talking about cannabis, the petition is for growing industrial hemp, different plant....
