was it ever saved once, before trying to save to a remote drive?

don't save to remote drives first... save locally & then copy.

In exchange for all of your hours work you had a valuable lesson.

All the best lessons have a high price.

do a search for *.doc on your entire computer, then arrange by date. IF it's there, it will be one of the lastest files.

the 4th one is probably hidden. To view it you have to make sure the "Show hidden files & folders" bullet is checked.

    Found in:
    My Computer/Tools/Folder Options/View/Show Hidden Files & Folders/Apply

You can really mess some stuff up if you start moving the wrong things around though, so just be careful.

I hope you find your file.
