pow/mia logo

[rushworks graphics]

we've been asked if we can make some graphics for a local firm with the pow/mia logo on for veterans etc. i have no idea who owns the rights to the logo or if its public domain. i have done a google search and could only find out about how/why it was made etc(quite interesting)..but nothing about property/copyright etc.

can any one shed some light on this for me so i can advise the client.

we did some decals for this group with the pow/mia logo not sure of the legal rights but we didn't have any issues they supplied the art work and we printed it

Edit: according to this website this group was founded in the 60s and incorporated in the 70s during the vietnam war. I think older might be better in this case of trying to track down ownership.

I believe a employee of Annin Flag created the design years ago.

thanks guys....they have the art work etc, i just didn't want to go ahead and print something without any knowledge of who owns it and if we were alowed to actually print it.

reading up on google about the image it explains how it was made, who made it, why it was made, just nothing in the area of ownership, rights or who to contact for information regarding the image etc.

search for 'copyright' in that page, and theres a writeup on the original pilot who designed the logo
