Profile for Phototex, what are you using?

Getting ready to land a job using the Phototex repositionable material and was curious to know if anyone has a favorite canned profile for this material?

I print on a roland inkjet printer.

Usually use a AB vinyl or Clothe profile.

I also usually get the best color buy turning off the icc output.

Best to test with small samples.

Hrm, are you printing through flexi or Versaworks?

Using EcosolMax inks, do I need to leave a border around the image?

If your planning on hand cutting it, then it wouldn't be a bad idea !

My Printer/Plotter will not contour cut through the Photo-Tex .

Hrm... What model are you using? Im running a 540vc and it seems to cut this material pretty good.

I have only cut smaller sample pieces.

So hand cutting it have you had any problems with the edges curling?

CJ-500 . . . New blade . . . shreds edges pretty ratty when cutting.

I've been told that it can be run on a solvent printer by some. A true source told me that it's really best suited for aqueous & dye sub, chroma and shouldn't be run on a solvent printer. Apparently Phototex has a brand new version specificly for solvent. The original issue was the ink really seaped into the fabric leaving an overly washed out appearance. A sample roll is on the way. The repositionable tack on this fabric makes it an installers dream.

We got some of the new solvent material for our Roland XC-540. We were told to use MCVP : Matte Calendered Vinyl profile and it seems to work good on our test prints.

We profiled the Phototex solvent material on a Roland machine (SP) running Roland's EcoSolMax inkset. It is an easy media to profile if you have the tools to make custom profiles.

Thanks! im using this profile on a sp-300v, i turned the cut speed down to 10. cuts and prints GREAT! the edges don't fray at all..
