question about the designjet 5500

hello people


i have designjet 5500ps uv ink i want to ask about the printhead life how long!

i heared that the average is about 4000 ml of ink

is that true !

4000 sounds a little high, but a new printhead only costs about $150
and you replace it yourself. I have a 10 year old 42" 5000(dye) and a 7-8 year old 60" 5500UV.

Here is a trick that will double your head life:

When you think you need to replace the head get a damp paper towel and a dry paper towel and place the contacts of the head on the damp towel then on the dry towel, do this about 12-15 times and you should get a lot more life out of the head.

There is no set amount of use. Some heads last 10 litres and some 2.
Do an image quality test print 1 to see how they are firing.
