The people who did this last year are members of this forum, I'm pretty sure, which is why I tried to be tactful and was also a little unspecific in my description.

i figured I could hash out the details if I received any quotes and I would also know right off the bat if the "quoter" knew what they were doing based on the substrate quoted. I do sometimes like to play some of my cards close to my chest, especially on an open forum.

Many of us play our cards close, but to those who don't know you..... you come across differently, hence the way this thread turned inside out against you..... then you against the entire membership. You packed the entire membership into one lump and shoved all of us in a corner.

Anyway, whether they are members or not..... asking for the wrong procedures or calling things by wrong names and expecting other professionals to know immediately you're fishing is an unhealthy act in any industry. As for being tactful, that's never been an issue in this place, so if you've been here long enough to know certain things.... that's the number one thing this place really has... or lacks.... TACT. :Big Laugh

i cold care less about the bickering above, but this statement caught my attention...

so you are asking people to quote something that they do not know what you want?

i don't get why if you are seasoned at this with the "big leagues", why one you don't have your own equipment, and two you don't know what to ask for specifically, and three why you wouldn't already have a vendor lined up that got you through a few seasons already since you don't have your own equipment

I have my own equipment, but I do not have a 5m printer. I could order smaller material, print it myself, and weld it, but the customer is adamant about there being no seam, even if I and you know it would basically be invisible if done correctly. Sometimes it's worth giving the customer what they want, even if it's not what they really need. I did know what to ask for, specifically, but chose not to. I described exactly what I needed, for the person that was capable of producing it. At least that's the way I saw it.

And I do already have a vendor lined up. However, it's complicated in ways I won't go in to. I don't always like to use them and was trying to offer some business to a forum member. I guess that comes from being part of large friendly forums since the last century. I always try to share business and favors where and when I can. It's what forms a reason for forums like this to exist.

Do I know everything? Ha, no! If I don't know, I've come here and asked for help, which was part of the reason I was trying to share business. A form of thank you, if you will, for those people being part of the forum.

sounds like you should pass.

first off, these are not banners, they are flex face signs. what's the difference you ask? last time someone used banners and it didn't quite work out.

sounds like this is a little outta your league.

I think we're doing just fine. :thumb:

One more panel to install tomorrow, then they will all be new!

Yes, I did block out some identifying marks. If you know where it is, you know where it is. I don't entirely trust everyone on the internet.

The weather has been beautiful. Mostly sunny and in the 60's (Fahrenheit). I really enjoy getting out of the shop, and it's even better when I get to play in the man lift. I love those things. The higher the better!

speaking of printed flex faces, we got several flex faces in this city that were "washed out " looking when they were installed. The look good during the day but like crap at night.

If you didn't want anyone to know this was in the Phoenix area you really should have blocked out 'Bell Road' on the panel for the Ford dealer.

Because he works at a FastSigns franchise...

There are so many other ways you could have started this out.

I kinda figured the location under my name would give that away...

Anyway, it's done now, so here's the whole thing!

Before and after.
