That is awful. My wife and I have been fans for years and really hate to hear this. Got to see them two summers ago at a "secret" 500 person show. So incredible and a great bunch of guys.

Love the Beastie Boys. I still believe that they had the anthem for all teenagers from the mid 80s to mid 90's. Sad day indeed.

Man it was incredible. They announced the show the night before while passing through Asheville on their way to bonnaroo. They sold 500 non-transferable tickets (to prevent scalping) to the show and we were lucky enough to get them. Got 2nd row and held it down the whole night. Had tickets to see Phish that same night, but there is always another chance to catch them. What a great trip!

Another BB fan here. My first exposure was listening to their Licensed to Ill album back in middle school. (Loved how they used classic rock loops in their music.) Been hooked since, and I can even say my son has a few of their tunes on his iPod. :)

Myyyyyy pistol is loaded, I shot Betty Crocker, deliver Colonel Sanders down to Davey Jones Locker!

Bummer. Licence to Ill was one of my first cassette tapes ever when I was a little kid.
Hope he went out peacefully.

Sad day indeed

Why? I ask this in all sincerity.

Is it more sad when some obscure ninth tier notable folds than when anyone else sucks the pipe?

Again, I ask in all sincerity. I'd really like to know.

I don't know who's a bigger troll, you or addie. And neither of ya are in the sign biz so it's equally befuddling.

I ask an honest question and you, ill-tempered and poorly raised child that you seldom fail to give every appearance of being, somehow must act the fool. Are you so lacking in judgement and manners that you must be a d1ckhead no matter what the circumstances?

well, let's do an experiment...

you go suck your exhaust pipe (properly) & I'll monitor how many people give a ratsass if we don't get to enjoy you being around to call our friends dickheads for the rest of our days...

...and then I will compare that number (or lack thereof) to those who think Adam had a few more good records in him, and would be less sad if those records were recorded...

deal?
