Regarding Signs101 forum, one thing I've noticed is.....

One of the forums I'm on has an "opt-in only" political forum.
You can post political stuff there and there is a lot of discussions going on. If you are not opted-in, you can not see it.

So Fred, that might be one of the options for a politically inclined people
That way, if someone wants to argue, they are more than welcome without disturbing the other forum members that do not want the part of that discussion.

That's exactly how it was setup. Unfortunately a lot of the negativity that was supposed to be limited to it spilled over into the open forums.

for me it just depends on how busy i am in the office. usually when i get started in the morning i get my emails up and running then open 101 and it stays open all day but i can get busy and don't look at it for a few hours or a couple of days. doesn't much matter what the content is.

imagine for a moment if there is no, and never was Signs101. all these past years, you are on your own, calling other local sign shops, bothering distributors with overly technical questions, calling techs in to "repair" human error-zero parts needed issues, not feeling the connectivity in to your peers with this odd business model we've sunk all our lives into. ...just you vs the market. we owe a lot to fred for putting this together.

For me personally.......

I treasure what I have learned in those 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there by browsing the site between jobs.

I also finally found - in a round about way - the answers to a question I have been trying to come up with for months in order to please the bean counters. For that I cannot thank Fred and the site enough.

The giggles and "oh no they did not say that" moments have been great as well.

Keep it rollin and I will keep reading so that someday I too may be a knowledgeable contributor!

The No Holds Barred section was crap. It was always filled with negative comments and religious/political views were dominated by a select few. It was always the same people spewing out the same crap day in and day out. Since that section is gone we hardly see these people anymore and thank God ( <--- Oh oh ... Someone want to chime in on why i said that  )

I like this much better ... If you want funny stuff or just want to do silly things with others then yeah ... Go to Facebook.

:ROFLMAO: I was one of those contributors, but I must say one thing.... no matter how heated or ugly it got, I still learned things about the other side, I never would've asked or searched for because of simply not knowing or having it put right in front of my nose. I learned all kinds of things even about religion.... and non-religion. I learned things about the political world, not just black & white here in this country, but other countries. View points were brought to me by others trying to make others see their ways or beliefs. Regardless of how I felt or thought about my own feelings, I was enlightened many many times. I didn't make them my own, but I did see why or how others would think the way they did. Doesn't mean I had to agree with them one little bit, but I did get a 'look see' from another standpoint I probably never would've given a second thought other-wise.

I can't say it's a good thing it's gone, but I guess it severed a lot of friendships and memberships to which some might still be here today, but ya know, if the heat's too hot, get outta the kitchen. Just like in life, if you wanna learn, it sometimes hurts to learn the truth and face it..... and that goes for me. We all have our moments and while it did spill out here, some people just ask for problems no matter where they are. In fact, some people were never even a part of that particular underground society, but they seem like they visited it quite a bit.

Hey Fred, if someone wanted to torture themselves..... can people go back and view that stuff through some sort of archive set up ??

Fred's right. We're so slammed right now. Last year we had a Great year.

March - August has almost surpassed all of 2012. It's been crazy for sure.

First of all..... you're not grumpy. Lotsa other things, but not grumpy. Why a father of 3 and no mention of being a husband ??

Don't bother planning a trip up this way. With all the rain we've had... the poison ivy and oak are everywhere. You have to cut a path through with a machete and even then, ya still can't get it all. Anyway, if I saw you down on all fours, lookin' like a chipmunk, I'd blast your butt away with my .38 or call the girls next door. They like that kinda crap. Besides I wouldn't be wasting all that water.

1. Were not officially married kids kids aren't biologically mine. I stepped up with the loser stepped in 3 years after the loser stepped out for a Gallon of milk and decided to never return.
