Registration marks, sp300, colorip 2.2

Shoot, I've had this machine 2 years now and have not yet done a print/cut/laminate/cut. So, I'm about to try.
In the versacamm manual it says on page 68 that "Crop marks drawn using computer programs cannot be used as crop marks by this machine".
??
So what kind of crop mark or registration mark should I be using?
IN colorip 2.2 I told it to print registration marks and it printed 4 small "targets"-small circle with a cross-hair-
in the corners of the print (outside the printed area).
Will the sp300 find these? I've read other people describe these marks as dime-sized black dots. How do I get those on my material?

make your graphic in Corel . . . In the colorip 2.2 print setup select print with cropmarks.

Also the image must have a hairline CutContour outline to cut, and the file must be EPS.

You may just want to try Roland CutStudio Plug-in for Corel,

or CoCut if you find that this is just too much to deal with

Thanks Rep. I'm on-side withe the EPS and cutline already.
I'll try the cut with cropmarks in 2.2--thanks, should have tried that already.
I'm not familiar with Roland CutStudio for Corel...is that new?

Heres what Roland tech told me . . . . You must go into your color palette

and create a new color, save it with the name : CutContour

exactly like that [CutContour] . . . Then when your setting up a file to be cut

you must select your CutContour color from the fountain pen tool, and then

your hair line from the fountain pen tool and then export the file as an

EPS [or] PS the only files that your Roland will recognize !

He sent me a PDF with all this info the other day, if you want I can email it

to you tomorrow when I'm at work !

Hey Ken...

Yeah, it's a bit confusing, but if you already have the 'marching ants' where you want them, see the attachment for the settings You'll also note that your max. print width will decrease as well; keep this in mind when sizing the job.
