I've seen a few people ask how can you use the Roland Color System in Flexi so I thought I would put together a little tutorial.

Folow these steps to create your own Flexi SWT file with all the Roland Colors.

Step 1: Start a new Flexi Document

Step 2: Import the attached PDF file
. Be sure to ungroup and delete the Roland logo

Step 3: Create a new color table
. View Menu > Color > New Table

Step 4: Merge the colors in the PDF to the new table
. View Menu > Color > Merge from Document
. Select "New Table" > Click OK

Step 5: Save the new color table
. View Menu > Color > Save Table As
. Select "New Table" > Click OK
. Save the file where ever you like with whatever name you like.

And ta-da you have your own Roland Color Library for Flexi

I tried opening in F7.6v2 this morning and could not- opened in Adobe acrobat
and converted to an .eps and that worked. I would upload the eps file- but I
cannot figure out how (olfart). Thanks Gene

Edit- only half of the top row comes in as spot colors with the correct names that Vworks will recognize.
Is anyone else having success with this? Gene

I'm not sure why that would be. I attached a ZIP with my SWT file, give that a shot.

Loaded right up in Flexi and the colors are perfect! Thanks so much!! Although I couldn't get the 'convert color spot' option recognized when exporting from Corel9 though even though the Roland swatch library is there. Also what are you guys using for Color Management Presets and Properties for oracal vinyl. Printing beautifully now with Pre-Press U.S. setting, just inquiring if I can get even better results! I have the Flexi swatch tables broken out into DG, DK, DP, PR and ST
(Dark, Strong, etc) tables so you don't have to sort thru an endless
table to find what you want. I would post them if there is interest and
I knew how to do it- Fred would help probably?

You can also just open the slb file,
goto color, open table then find the "roland color system library.slb" file, mine is in the swatch library roland directory in flexi 8.6
C:\Program Files (x86)\SAi\SAi Production Suite\Swatch\Library\Roland

Yes, if you have a newer version of Flexi it comes with the Roland Color System palate already, use that one.

The older versions (8.0 and before) didn't come with it built in so you'd still want to download the chart in the zip file above.

Oh sorry, i should have left my original comment.

I was having problems DL'ing the file, but my account just wasn't active yet. Sorry for the mix up.

Other wise this worked great! Thanks
