Frikkin' 540 is lightning fast now . . . Amazing upgrade !

i've used my vp540 on billboard mode when printing banners, but the prints came out with banding and some color changes, do you think this update will fix this?

i will do the update anyway.

Roland has just updated to link on their website to the correct firmware update for all you VP owners . . . WhooHoo !

You must still follow the link and the steps provided in Post #1 of this thread . . . My printer is twice as fast now . . . !
I tried it again...NO LUCK...hmmm.... maybe got a direct link for that?:U Rock:

oops

I'm glad the upgrade is working...
It really does make the VP a speedy printer!

No more 'scoops' from me though...

Apparently some of us hardcore Roland-heads couldn't wait until the 5th for the download and called Roland tech support for the upgrade on the 4th. This caused some craziness at Roland since the download site wasn't ready yet, and they had not publicly announced the upgrade.

NET NET... The folks at Roland did not appreciate my leaking the announcement.

I apologize for any problems or confusion that my 'scoop' caused anyone here.

Are there new profiles as well or will my old (i1 proof made) profiles work?:toasting:

Last day in So. Texas... so I am gearing up for the real world:doh:

Thanks Stacy- that is good to hear, I struggled with the Versaworks profiling-
I had a lot more trouble with individual ink limits than when I did my Wasatch
profiling. VP540 and triangle inx for addl problems. Wasatch still has not figured out the problem
that I am having with bad prints/banding on the VP. Gene

Check your heat settings Gene - the VP seems a lot more sensitive then the SP540 was. And I'll tell you honestly that profiling is hard for me too... I've had to redo them more then once when I really thought i was dead on.

With the triangle ink I always run the heaters full on- except 54"banners and
a couple of sensitive materials. I love triangle, very durable- I can take a
print out of the printer as soon as it stops and scrub with IPA with little or
no effect.

Stacy- how are the Roland Spot colors working with the RIPC- you said
that you were using your prior profiles, not the new roland profiles, correct?
BSnyder said he was having trouble with the ink puddling with the new
profiles (as I understand it). I updated Vworks but not the firmware yet-
probably will this weekend.
