I have a Royal Sovereign rsc1401c laminator that only works in reverse. I am not able to increase speed in order to activate forward movement. Any suggestions?

It could be a switch on the pcb board. There are 2 of them (blue rectangle), 1 for forward and 1 for reverse. Take back cover off and you will see the board. You can hear (and feel) them engage when you press the button. I'd check that first. I just got my board back from being repaired from that smoked resistor.

Did the speed light move when you pressed the speed button before the repair?

Yes, motor just wouldn't engage. Wasn't receiving the 24volts. But it beeped, and you could here the switch activating.
