I'm 99% sure the email below is a scam, but thought I would ask here and see what you think...
There should be a pinned thread listing all the different scam emails.

I sent him this quote, attached. Thank you some forgotten Signs101 member for posting it. Yes, it said scam banner quote as the file name.
He replied.
"Okay good. I would like you to go ahead and calculate the cost for 40 Qty and this would be picked up at your location. I already made an arrangement with the shipping agent that will come and pick them up from you once it's done.

Kind Regards."

I told him they were done and to send the agent.

Haven't heard back yet, I'll let you know

This is absolutely a scam. We get these emails at least once a month for either banners or screen printed t-shirts and they all sound more or less exactly the same.

Just say, Sure! just give us a call at xxx-xxx-xxxx. They will if it's legit, won't if it's a scam.

I just caught the same one twice about 3 weeks ago from some lead from a client as well as direct through our request form on our website. It's always something generic, sometimes using faith as the in, something like:

Hi, I saw your work at a recent tradeshow. Can you print me the following banners?

300 - 3' x 4' banner with hem and grommet
Red Arial Text
"CHRIST IS GOOD"

Usually its 3 different messages times 100 banners each, but that's the typical template. Always tends to work out to be 2-3 rolls of material. While there is no harm in sending a price, it's part 2 where they typically get you. They ask pay by credit and then ask you to arrange shipping through their own shipper, but you can "just put it on the bill". You get the chargeback months later as those cards are 99.9% stolen, but by that point the banners have been sitting in your shipping area waiting for "the shipping company" for 3-4 months. This ends up being their take in the scam, the banners are just the vehicle to get you to take "their" money, turn around and give them a portion back through the "shipper".

Stay safe everyone, with the holidays approaching I can only anticipate more of these to come through.

Subject: Request for Quotation - Occidental Petroleum Products
Good day,
I trust this email finds you well. I wanted to touch base on behalf of OXY also known as Occidental Petroleum Corporation. We have a Request for Quotation for the products attached to this email and we're hoping that your company could provide us with this.
Please provide your best prices and lead time for the listed items, separating the technical and commercial offers. Additionally, can you ensure submission of your bid by the designated dealing of November 28th. If yes, we'll give you access to our bid portal for the formal submission.

I would also be grateful if this could be forwarded internally to the appropriate department.
Sincerely,

BTW, I saw your post from a while back, and that email has some red flags, especially with the vague subject line and the informal greeting. Scammers often use generic names and ask about services without any details. I’ve gotten similar emails before, and they usually lead to a request for personal info or money.

In one case, I got a message that seemed legit but didn’t sit right with me. I checked the sender’s email with an email leak checker to see if it was linked to any reported scams. Turns out, it was flagged. It’s a good idea to keep an eye out for those types of checks when you’re unsure.

It's also a good idea to keep an eye out for the spambots that seem to infiltrate this forum on an hourly basis. How long have you been in the "sign business" exactly?

I always tell them they must come into the shop and bring cash. Usually it's a number like $20,500 plus tax. Nothing goes into production until after I receive payment and there are no refunds.
I never get a response back.
