Yea I just saw this. Dallas will get it bad. I was cracking up yesterday while Clay Jenkins was scolding everyone about the toilet paper.

Collin County has yet to do anything, they've been too lax about everything. Tarrant should announce soon

Its coming to florida soon. The irresponsibility is getting really old. Our neighbor is having a party and these boaters were on the news tonight. It was the same yesterday so they shut all of the boat ramps which pretty much did nothing. These people ruin it for everyone else.

I talked to my grandparents down in Ft. Myers today. My grandfather is still part-timing at a golf course. I get the feeling that no one is taking this seriously down there, not even them... Must be the nice summer-time weather

Meanwhile our doctors in BC are getting notes telling them to stop asking for a shutdown, and to stand by dr bonnies message that one isn't needed... To be unified for the people

This is why it shouldn't be left up to the individual governments/states/provinces... Everyone knows it's going to happen, it should happen across the country all at once to minimize the impact/time it needs to be effective.

Quit buggin' me
Our confirmed cases just about doubled to 27 this weekend.
For some reason, a local bingo hall was operating 'business as usual'.
Don't know who won but 2 players there tested positive and now they are trying to track down everyone who was at the hall over a weeklong period.
I think these studies might need some updating:
"Empirical studies have shown that older people are better than younger ones in terms of control over emotion, knowing themselves better, making better decisions that require experience, and having more compassion and empathy towards others."

This is how we self isolate here on a nice day...
Now the beaches are shut and pubs, restaurants and gyms have been shut down.
Saw my doctor this morning and he said whatever they do now is too late.. cases are ballooning.

Nice, where are all those Australian man-eating, land & sea creatures we read about when you really need them?

Really, all the counties in the DFW area, covering over 7.3 million residents, need to go into lock-down mode. The counties surrounding Dallas and Tarrant counties (Johnson, Ellis, Parker, Wise, Denton, Collin, Rockwall, Hunt & Kaufman) all should be doing the same as Dallas county. It would be even better if the Texas state government made it a state-wide thing. Texas is a gigantic state with a lot of wide open spaces. But it has sprawling cities that are impressive on a global scale. DFW has a giant population. Houston metro has over 6 million residents. The Austin-San Antonio region is home to over 5 million.

Up here in Oklahoma the situation is hardly any better. None of the cities in OK are on lock-down where only "essential" workers can go to their place of work. We don't even have a state-wide directive on policy. Every city and town is making up their own rules.

Here in Lawton we're trying to be more proactive about it. No businesses that can potentially host crowds of 10 or more customers are allowed to be open. Dine-in service is banned in all restaurants. Goodyear operates one of the world's largest tire production factories West of Lawton. That plant is closed. All our schools are closed. Tribes have pretty much shut down all the casinos in the state. We're not in total lock-down mode, but we're only a couple steps away from it.

My parents are in Ft Myers also. Nope, they are still golfing and having pool parties. They moved the pool chairs 6’ apart. I believe pickle ball is going on also. I shake my head but they don’t listen just like I never did.

This makes me even more and more grateful, that my parents - in their 70's are pretty much isolated, and stocked up - naturally. They live remotely, and don't need to go out. They have property and can go for walks, and are naturally isolated. I now more than ever have a deeper respect for my parents stability, health and - they have always known better! I'm surprised I survived my 20's and have lived to be... my age. BTW - parents are not together, so I have two sets of parents - in different states - whom I'm not too worried about. They watch the news, they are wise and safe.
