I agree this is a great thread. We are actually building my own desk right now and so now we are in building mode. LOL After seeing some of your posts I want to rebuild our production tables too, but not out oak like my desk. I'm pretty sure it would have been cheaper to just buy a premade desk then it was for the wood. Although having something custom made for your needs and the space you have is nice. I too have also come to the conclusion that having a 3D router would be awesome for building your own furniture (or building it for others:wink:).

I was inspired and hello

Hi all. A newbie to the forum here in New Zealand. Have been getting a lot of great tips and advice from this forum - thank you to those who comment here with helpful suggestions and comments. Found this thread and got so inspired from the pics uploaded I thought i'd have a crack at building a roll holder and heres what I came up with using gazebo poles and a couple of bits of timber. Cost was under $100NZ. Thought i'd share since this was the thread that got me thinking!

Even though we have shifted our business model in another direction, this is the way we handle the small rolls of vinyl and thermoflex. Best way IMHO. Couple of pieces of slat wall from your local Menards or your favorite store fixture supply warehouse plus a few accessories to hold the vinyl.
