We don't use much HDU, so it's hard to give solid answers.

We used to go through tons of redwood a year, but the market kinda dropped out on that around here, plus the wood is getting so hard to get.

I still have about 280' 12" board foot of 8/4" clear-heart vertical grain on the shelf.
Maybe a few cut-offs of HDU.
