Kiwi, my Severe Macaw or they are also called Chestnut Fronted Macaws.
They are the largest of the mini Macaws.
Kiwi LOVES Me and only me. lol
They can be very protective of their chosen person.
Kiwi sits at my desk, on my monitors, on my chest when she wants my attention, she walks to the edge of my desk, looks up at me, and then Jumps from the desks edge onto my chest, that means it's time for me to scratch her head awhile. lol
Kiwi is a fun bird and really enjoys hanging out with me and sharing my meals picks what she wants off my plate.
She loves the raw almonds I give her at my desk. She's out of her cage 4-5 times a day sometimes for hours just hanging out with me.
If I get up to walk away she leaps quickly onto my shoulder to go were I am going. lol
If I get up and move quickly before she can leap on, she will fly arouind the house looking for me.
Luckily she poops right before she comes out of her cage, and most times will go to ger stand alone perch to get a drink a bite to eat or a bathroom break. Never lets one go on me. Thank god! lol
She's about 6 years old now. I got her about a year ago, previous owner had lost their job and lost his house.
I don't think they paid her nearly enough attention.
Soon as I went to look at her, she took a liking to me right away and the owner was surprized by that.
I think she Picked me, more than I picking her.
I have had birds since I was 11 or so, Kiwi is awsome to have around.
Previous owner kept her wings "clipped" as seen in these pics, she has moulted since then and I don"t clip them.
