Also have the LG voyager..love it....know 2 other people on VZW who got the dare and returned it within the 30 days and got the Voyager.

The flip open keyboard is sweet and the touch screen isnt too bad either. Have checked s101 a few times from the road and it works, although just need to scroll around etc.

I'm on Verizon too. I went to buy the Voyager when my 2 yr contract was up and they offered me a free phone to re-up... I tried out the BB Curve (or was it a pearl?)

..anyway, it had like 20 small buttons which meant the 10 I needed to dial calls while driving were twice as hard to find, and the letters associated were not the normal ones, so I couldn't easily call 1.800.GO FEDEX, or 1.800.PICK UPS... which kinda sucked...

...but the worst part, the only reason to put up with dinky little keys is to type text or email messages... and without even giving me 26 keys?? what's the point? Their stupid auto-word-recognition crap sorta works... but what a PITA!!

So I returned it and got an NV2!
Now that is a cool phone... big easy to find phone keypad like my RAZR on the front, and full keyboard and larger screen if I open it up.

I'm using the HTC MyTouch through t-mobile. Great phone and browses quite well. (Aside from the fact that T-Mobile 3G is spotty as hell and sloooooow)

i'm using the Samsung Omnia (like an iphone with a 5mp camera) and it has the opera browser. I can zoom in to what I want to see but its not great.

It would be really nice to have a mobile version of this site.

If you are in the market right now for a phone... give the HTC Hero and Motorola Droid a serious look. They are both driven by Google's Android OS and they are Open Source. Very kick ass. The Hero (I'm assuming the Droid too) can scale web pages to fit the screen and it recompiles text as you zoom. Making looking at web pages 1000% easier and more user friendly. iPhone doesn't to that. That post of Jillbeans is a perfect example... when you zoom in on the Android OS, all of her text would be visible, and no side scrolling to read everything.

I'm picking up the Hero tomorrow, after I've had several weeks of shopping around and comparing smart phones. Then I had a hands on, in depth demo of the Hero and the Android interface today. I'm impressed. And I'm usually a Mac kind of guy. These things run circles around the iPhone!

Reason I'm finally moving up to a Smart Phone... in the field proof checking! I can have my designers email me screen shots or .pdf's of the work they are working on, while I'm at the pool, er, I mean bringing in more clients... I can proof, correct and make comments instantly and on the road!

Why is Jillbeans' picture different on that screenshot than on the actual post?

except for last 4 (5 now) posts... this topic is a year old. All our posts update to a new avatar, except the screenshot of course.
