I'm using Chrome, loaded the images to the site, and inserted them the right way... So what gives? Do I need to upload them into a different gallery to be viewable?

The recommended way is to upload directly to the thread. Here are instructions on photo posting.

Our concerns are that all images posted at Signs 101 be hosted here as well so that they remain visible in our archives. I'm not sure why there's a breakdown in the linkage for some when profile album pics are used, but there does seem to be a problem, so you might as well just follow the established instructions.
